Well... we've been open almost 4 weeks.  Lots has happened...

We met with the owner of the Bakery and I showed her the items I create, then explained my vision for the shop... "Gifts made by hand" would be my main focus.  Everything handmade.  I don't think she was convinced that I could make the lease payment by selling bottle caps and cards!  ..but she gave me some business pointers and we signed the lease.

Our opening day was Nov 19th.  It was a soft opening and I am I thankful for the craft friends that I was able to call up and ask (beg) for product while they were in the middle of their Holiday Bazaar season.  And, double thankful for my friend Kristen who was more than happy to be my daytime person.

We decked the halls for Christmas and Santa has been visiting most every weekend and new artist and crafters have been coming by with their creations.  I've dedicated Tuesdays from 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and Saturday mornings 8 a.m. to 10-ish as times when people can stop by to check inventory in.

We have room for a few more people if they'd like to consign with us!

Once Upon a Time...

It's that how all great love stories start out?  Not just the stuff Disney is made out of but life stories too.

Sooo... let's begin the love story...

Once Upon a time we were heading to the Black Diamond Bakery for breakfast.  This is like Oct 16th, 2011.  Not sure why I woke up and thought about the bakery, we hadn't been there in a few years.  Maybe I was dreaming of a half-pound cinnamon roll!

Anyways, my sister in-law and I found a parking spot RIGHT in front of the bakery but before we could get out of the Jeep - THREE huge tour buses pull up and start off loading people.  The place already looked packed.. probably from those two other buses we passed that were parked along Baker Street in the little town of Black Diamond.

We decided we were too hungry to wait, or even go inside to see how long the wait was.  We headed towards Enumclaw and didn't eat at the Bakery.

Sad and still wanting a cinnamon roll.. ok, I thought the Bakery was calling me.. Anyways...

We tried the Bakery again the following Sunday - only earlier!  There was only a 15 minute wait this time - do-able! I had put my name on the list while Dawn ordered some stuff at the Bakery.  We then headed to the seating area to the right of the Bakery to eat our goodies.

While sitting there.. and eating a Russian tea cookie covered with powdered sugar, I pointed towards this empty space.  Even with my mouth full of cookie Dawn knew what I was getting excited about and this is where the adventure begins....
